ProEgg, in facts.

ProEgg is an egg white protein powder sold in Kenya. One 33 g scoop gives 22 to 24 g of protein, with no added sugar, no lactose and no gluten. It comes in four flavours (Original, Strawberry, Banana and Caramel Biscuit) in 500 g bags, from proegg.ke, Greenspoon and Jumia.

How to use it.

No special routine. A scoop goes into the food you already eat.

  • Blend

    1 scoop with 250 ml of milk or water, or added last to a smoothie. Blend on low for 10 to 15 seconds.

  • Shake

    Use a shaker with a metal mixing ball. Without one, egg white foams and doesn't mix in.

  • Porridge, oats & uji

    Stir it in once the pot is off the heat, so it stays smooth.

  • Iced coffee

    Keep it cold. Egg white starts to set at about 62 °C, so hot coffee makes it lumpy.

  • Bake

    Swap up to a quarter of the flour for Original in pancakes, banana bread and muffins.

Who makes it

ProEgg is made by Güres, an egg producer the ProEgg family has worked with for decades. ProEgg brings it to Kenya and is based in Nairobi. Eggs are the family business, five generations of it.
